Kiehl's Haul

It's incredible the fact that since a few months ago I had never tried any of the Kiehl's products and I wonder why...

One day, I found in my makeup bag a sample of the Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate and the morning after I applied it I couldn't believe how good my skin looked. I ran into the closest shop from my workplace and bought, despite the price tag, a bottle of this marvelous serum. This was the beginning of my multiple visits to the store and in this post I'm going to present to you my new impressive discoveries of this well established New Yorker brand.

Crème de Corps Soy Milk and Honey Whipped Body Butter

This is the most edible like body butter that I have ever tried. I'm literally tempted to lick the jar. It smells beautiful, sweet and indulgent but not too heavy or too much, just delicious. The texture is decadently air-whipped to stimulate your senses. Enriched with Shea Butter, Vegetarian Squalane and Jojoba Oil for a nourished, protected and restored skin. The formula doesn't leave too much residue, so you can get dressed quickly and the scent will last many hours after the application. Love, love, love.

Rosa Artica Lightweight Cream

I think this is the best daily anti-aging moisturizer that I have ever tried. The texture is perfect, creamy but blends very well on the skin and it also gives all the hydratation that I need throughout the day. The scent is very botanical and pleasant. The key ingredient of this cream is Rosa Artica, also known in Latin as Haberlea Rhodopensis, a resurrection species known for its extreme resistance to desiccation, able to survive 31 months in a dry-out circle by failing into anabiosis. When this plant has the moisture that it requires it becomes to life within hours. The molecules of Rosa Artica stimulates antioxidant skin defenses. The result, a more elastic, nourished and radiant skin.

Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado

The driest and most damaged part of my face is the thin layer of skin around my eyes. It is dry and changes dramatically bad when I'm tired or in a bad period. I have some fine lines, blame my constant smiling face, that tend to be erased when the skin is properly nourished. The consistency of this cream, that contains avocado oil, beta-carotene and shea butter, is thick and superb, as it doesn't migrate into the eyes.

Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil

One of my favorite parts of my beauty routine is taking the day off. Having a shower, removing my makeup and wash my face. The contact with warm water instantly relaxes me after a long day at work. This product is an oil that removes well any residue of makeup after my micellar water. I put it directly to my dry face and massage it. Then I add little droplets of water and emulsify the formula that becomes milky. I finish by rinsing well with water. This cleanser is very unique by its soothing blend of essential oils, squalane (plant-derived lipid) and evening primrose oil (rich in Omega 3 and fatty acids).

Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate

What can I say about this night serum...It is absolutely amazing how unbelievable well you look the morning after you apply it. Enriched with 10,5% of pure vitamin C, it helps your skin to minimize fine lines whilst it brightens your complexion reducing the hyperpigmentation of brown spots.

Vitamin C :The Edit

I´m very curious and I have always been interested in skincare. Sometimes I like to experiment and apply only some boosters. Today I´m going to focus on the use of Vitamin C applied topically on the skin.

The most commonly known form of this vitamin is L-Ascorbic Acid, but also Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate. The list of benefits for your skin is kind of amazing:

Antioxidant

Vitamin C acts as a shield against free radicals like pollution and sun damage that cause oxidative stress to the skin.

Stimulates Collagen Production

A very effective anti-aging ingredient that is responsible of the creation of collagen, a protein that helps body tissue to withstand stretches. That means more elasticity and strength and less wrinkles.

Reduces Dark Spots

Vitamin C also helps to even out skin tone reducing the dark spots produced by sun damage, acne scaring, age or genetic factors.

Brightens the Complexion

One of the best results that you can get when using regularly Vitamin C is a radiant glowy, healthy looking skin. And who doesn´t want that?

Also, I would like to warn you about the fact that when I applied Vitamin C for the first time it irritated my skin. The reason why this happened is because many products that have at least 10% of Vitamin C and a low PH in order to be effective can be very itchy and may cause a little hot sensation. If your skin is not very sensitive you can go on and try to apply it gradually, first adding and mixing small quantities to your regular moisturizer, then on its own when you will give time to your skin to adjust. Avoid the application after a harsh exfoliation, chemical peel or microdermoabrasion.

Another important point to mention is the difficulty to stabilize Vitamin C, which means that its effectiveness will be depleted if the formula is exposed during long periods of time to air and light.

Potent Anti-Ageing Vitamin C

Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate by Kielh's

This product is magical! One of the rare serums that really does something to your face. The first applications you will notice a little itchy sensation that transforms your face into a beautiful goddess skin like the morning after. You wake up with a fresh and glowy skin. The texture is white and very creamy and it blends well on the skin. It contains 10,5 of pure Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid) that reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles whilst minimizes your pores. A game changer in my skincare routine.

Vitamin C Exfoliating and Brightening Mask

GlamGlow Flashmud Brightening Treatment

This mask is a indulgent way to incorporate vitamin C progressively. I tend to do it while I'm taking a bubble bath on Sundays. It is highly charged in brightening ingredients, so this product will be the right one for you if you are targeting dark spots, redness, even dark circles. The key ingredients are White Birch Leaf that delivers natural Betulin and Betulinic Acid which have anti-inflammatory anti-bacterial and regenerating properties. Extracted from the bark of the white birch tree, this substance protects the trees from UV radiation, extreme temperatures and pest infestations. Others actives like Ellagic acid, a polyphenol found in fruits like raspberries and pomegranates, have a brightening effect on your skin. A great way to change your classic exfoliation when you need an extra bright finish to correct any discoloration or hyperpigmentation. Leave it for 20 minutes and apply sunscreen the day after.

Lightweight Affordable Moisturizer with Vitamin C

The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturizer

This product is great for beginners in skincare and also if don't want to spend a lot of money. Even though it's not so expensive, I have to say that it is truly effective for the radiance. The explanatory leaflet says that you have to avoid the eye area and it's no joke. I have experienced myself the sensation of this cream around my eyes and it isn't pleasant. In my case, this cream isn't sufficiently moisturizing or nourishing as I've developed with the age a change in my skincare type from combination to dry. When I use this cream I layer another serum or products that has a richer formula. This lightweight moisturizer gel will be a good boost of vitamin C for dull combination to oily skin types.
